Room in Spanish for Teachers and Intro to Technology Classes
Although both classes have met once, there is still some room left both of these classes. Please note that our tuition is $17 per unit plus a one time only per quarter registration fee of $11. (The registration fee has been increased by $1 this quarter.)

1. Introduction to Technology for Educators
CIS 50A.09
Introduction to the computer and its uses is equivalent to the San Jose State University EDIT122, and the units will transfer. SJSU now requires this course as a prerequisite for their teacher credentialing programs. It is a perfect course for any educator wishing to gain a basic understanding of how to effectively use the computer for both school and personal use. You will learn to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics and Web page creation software. You will also learn file management, simple software and hardware configuration and troubleshooting as well as how to use email, an Internet browser, and various search engines. The course includes a discussion of software applications for educational use, and the role of the computer and Internet in the educational setting. This is a must take introduction to the computer for all educators who want and need basic computer skills. This class meets the Level 1 CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing Technology Proficiencies for teacher certification.

2. Conversational Spanish Using Online Resources
LINC 208.02
Basic conversational Spanish for those working with parents or students whose primary language is Spanish.This course will include strategies for working With ELL populations while looking at various hispanic cultures. Participants will review online resources, learn basic grammar concepts and role-play different situations.The following skills will be put into practice: listening, speaking, reading, writing and composing.
