Dec 3 Flash Cartoons and Palm Classes

Begin December with one of two fun LINC-FastTech Classes.

LINC 292A.01 Introduction to Palm Handheld PDAs (Saturday, Dec. 3) 1/2 unit
Are you thinking of purchasing a Palm or other handheld devise,and wonder how you'll use it? Do you have a PDA (Palm, Handspring, etc.)? Would you like to learn to get the most out of it. You will learn how to not only keep your date book and address book, but will learn how to use other related tools and functions. You will learn how to use menu bars to cut, copy, and paste, use hand writing, typing and keyboard functions, and to sync your PDA with your computer. You may either bring your hand-held devise with you to class or use ours.

LINC 287.01 Flash Cartoons (Saturdays, Dec. 3 & 10) --1 unit
Flash animated and still graphic cartoons are optimized for Web presentations. This course is an introduction to cartooning using the Flash authoring environment. No previous experience with Flash or computer graphics is required. Everyone will work at their own pace and skill level. We will follow guided instructions from Justin at CartoonSmart.com , using individual QuickTime movie tutorials at each student's own pace. Justin plays with Flash like a child plays with modeling clay with no stress, all creativity. His teaching method is optimal for artists, poets, K-12 teachers, and high school students with no ActionScript or programming is necessary! This course is designed for educators and high school--11th/12th graders (requires school/parent permission form) and college students who want to learn to create Flash animations for classroom projects. In addition, if you are teaching computer skills, you will appreciate discovering and probably adopting Justin's self-paced tutorials for your students. You, too, can create something like this: Thanksgiving Flash Cartoon.

Foothill LINC-FastTech classes are $17 per unit for CA residents plus a one time per quarter registration fee of $10. Parking is $2.00. Please park in lot 4 and bring 8 quarters or 2 dollar bils for parking.
